Zlatan Ibrahimovic LA Galaxy

According to Fox Sports USA, the Spanish language version, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will play for LA Galaxy. The TV channel’s Twitter account, verified and with over 500k followers, tweeted an image of Ibrahimovic in an LA Galaxy shirt and claimed the striker is set to join.

It’s not the first time the Manchester United striker has been linked with a move to the MLS side, and whilst it’s been widely expected Ibrahimovic will stay, Jose Mourinho has made it clear he’ll be happy whatever the former Sweden international decides to do.

Fox say Ibrahimovic will be paid even more by LA Galaxy than David Beckham was.

Of course it would be assumed the image Fox Sports use is a Photoshop, albeit a good one, but the claims are still going to be worrying for Manchester United fans. If Ibrahimovic does leave, and the club’s struggles this season continue, then it makes signing him in the first place seem almost counter productive to having a plan lasting more than one season.

Other players have been pushed a little wide, creating further competition there, and seeing Memphis Depay leave the club. If Zlatan’s Manchester United career was a one season cameo it doesn’t seem worth it, and that’s without mentioning the mood Anthony Martial’s number change put the French youngster in.

Regardless, this is no confirmation and it could well be there’s over-excitement in Los Angeles about the possibility of signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
