Real Madrid have been handed a major blow ahead of their second-leg clash with Manchester City as David Alaba is a ‘serious doubt’ for the clash.

That’s according to Carrusel Deportivo, who say the defender has picked up an ‘adductor problem’ and is now unlikely to make the second leg of their semi-final clash next week.

The Spanish side are set to host Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday next week, looking to turn around the 4-3 defeat in the first leg at the Etihad on Tuesday.

To do so, they will hope to have all of their stars available to them, particularly midfielder Casemiro, who missed the first leg.

And while there is good news on that front, with Carrusel Deportivo reporting that the Brazilian has ‘done part of training’ with the group and ‘will play’ on Wednesday, it’s bad news on the Alaba front.

He is ‘seriously doubtful’ to make the second leg of the semi-final and has ‘gone back to square one’ with an adductor problem now likely to have ruled him out.

That is sure to come as a boost for Manchester City, who will be hoping to take advantage of Alaba’s absence and target Eder Militao, as they did at the Etihad this week.
