It’s now been nearly three years since Maurizio Sarri left Chelsea, but it seems the manager still thinks of some of the players he worked with in London.
Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport today writes that the Lazio boss currently has the ‘dream’ of signing Blues midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the Serie A side this summer.
Sarri reportedly rates the 26-year-old very highly, as the outlet describes the player highlighting his ‘physicality, as well as an uncommon technique’.
Lazio, however, shouldn’t have an easy task to land Loftus-Cheek this summer, as it’s only Chelsea who’ll decide what to do to him at the end of the season.
Corriere Dello Sport points out that Thomas Tuchel has been using the player more in recent weeks, as he has 34 appearances for the club this season.
Loftus-Cheek, whose contract with Chelsea runs until 2024, is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €20m.
The report doesn’t mention how much would the Serie A side wish to pay on his signing.
