Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all have Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson ‘in their sights’ but may find extracting him from Germany a difficult task.
That’s according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Kerry Hau, who reports that while the Premier League trio are keen, the lack of a release clause in the 20-year-old’s deal will make any transfer complicated.
Larsson has been in solid form for Eintracht so far this season, with three goals and one assist in 14 games in all competitions.
He’s already bettered his goal tally of two from 38 last season and is only one short of the same amount of assists to boot.
It could be set to be a big year for the Swedish midfielder, who has long been touted as a potential star of the future and been slowly developing his game in Frankfurt since a €9m move from Malmo in July 2023.
Arsenal and Liverpool were credited with an interest in him at the beginning of this year with the Gunners continuing to be linked after that initial report and Larsson even admitting Declan Rice is an inspiration for him.
Now Tottenham can be added to the list of admirers according to Hau, although any transfer is going to be a difficult one to get over the line.
“Hugo Larsson is one of Eintracht Frankfurt’s shooting stars and is currently one of the most exciting midfielders in the Bundesliga,” he said.
“The 20-year-old Swede has already aroused the interest of several top clubs. According to our information, the Premier League is currently looking at him.
“Some top-class teams, right behind Liverpool FC, Arsenal FC and also Tottenham Hotspur, we hear, have Larsson in their sights, but also one or two Bundesliga competitors.
“Nevertheless, the Frankfurt bosses around Markus Dröschel can sit back and relax, because Larsson feels at home on the Main and that is why he recently extended his contract early until 2029 and, very importantly, from Frankfurt’s point of view, without an exit clause.”
