Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen is about to end his loan deal with Sheffield United to join Aston Villa on a ‘dry loan’.
That’s according to both Tuttomercatoweb and Sky Sport Italy, who both say a move to Villa Park is imminent.
First, TWM report that Olsen ‘returns to Roma’ from his deal with the Blades but is set to ‘leave immediately’ on loan to Aston Villa.
He is ‘about to end’ his deal with the Championship side but will be staying in England anyway as Aston Villa are ‘about to close’ a deal for a loan until the end of the season.
That’s backed up by Sky, who say the goalkeeper is ‘towards Aston Villa’ and also state that the deal will be a ‘dry loan’.
For the uninitiated in Italian transfer speak, that means a loan deal but without any options to make it a permanent one. In other words, a loan and nothing more.
Neither outlet makes it clear when the deal will be done and finalised, or even if the Swedish goalkeeper has undergone a medical with Steven Gerrard’s side at this point.
Both are incredibly confident that it will be completed, though, and the goalkeeper, who spent last season on loan with Everton, will be moving to Villa Park sooner rather than later.
