HSV Hamburg coach Tim Walter has insisted he’s heard no talk of Manchester City loanee Tommy Doyle being recalled in January.
Doyle joined the German club on loan in the summer transfer window, with Manchester City electing to send him out to gain regular first-team football.
That has not proven to be the case, though, with the 20-year-old only managing seven appearances and 150 minutes of football so far.
He’s yet to start a game this season and has spent the last two games, a 3-0 win over Ingolstadt and a defeat to Hannover, sat on the bench.
There have been reports that those in charge at the Etihad could look to end the loan and bring Doyle back to England early, but Walter insists he’s not aware of anything like that being in the pipeline.
“I haven’t heard that yet, and I haven’t got that impression yet,” MOPO report him saying.
“He is one of our players. As long as he’s here, we’ll try to improve everyone and treat him accordingly.”
