It would appear sources close to Juventus have moved quickly to rubbish a claim of a swap deal with Manchester United.
Ruben Amorim saw his new side draw 1-1 with Ipswich Town on Sunday and after the match he spoke about several frustrations he had with players.
One of those related to Joshua Zirkzee and the Dutchman not entering the box for crosses, instead floating somewhere further back and being more of spectator of attacks rather than the protagonist.
Pretty much since he arrived at Manchester United there’s been rumours that Zirkzee could return to Italian football. The country’s media thought he preferred a move to AC Milan anyway but it was only Manchester United who would, reportedly at least, pay the huge commission his agent Kia Joorabchian was asking for.
As the weeks have gone by and more question marks have appeared around the forward, the Serie A return claims have grown.
Juventus are being repeatedly linked, with it thought that Zirkzee would be strongly tempted by a reunion with Thiago Motta, having worked well with the manager at Bologna.
TuttoJuve this morning reported on a potential swap deal between Zirkzee and Douglas Luiz, who has had a disaster of a time since moving to Juventus from Aston Villa.
However, it would appear someone has since told the very same TuttoJuve that the claim is nonsense and there’s no interest in that regard… and a move won’t be happening.
Still, the Zirkzee to Juventus rumours won’t die and if his Manchester United fortunes don’t change then it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he heads back to Italy.
