Tottenham have Dutch forward ‘on their list’ – Potential ‘big transfer’, club will fight to keep him

Tottenham still have striker Wout Weghorst on their shortlist, but a move is unlikely to happen before the end of the transfer window.

That’s according to SPORTBild, who say the striker ‘could be a big transfer’ for Wolfsburg but is unlikely to be so.

They explain that Inter Milan and Tottenham have the striker ‘on their lists’, but the German side would not give the Dutchman away at this point in the window.

That’s because the prospect of finding a replacement for him would be ‘too slim’ at this point in time.

The club have taken a similar stance on defender Maxine Lacroix, who had been wanted by RB Leipzig but has now accepted that he will be staying ‘without complaint’.

That is something they are hoping Weghorst will take on board and follow, despite the interest from Inter and Tottenham in him.

Whether that happens remains to be seen, with a move to either club undoubtedly a big step up for him if it was offered.

He’s been linked with Tottenham for the best part of the last year, but at 29 years of age, this is probably the last chance for him to make it happen.

Of course, Spurs will need to make a move for that to occur, and if they do, it seems they’ll face plenty of resistance from Wolfsburg.
