Brighton and Hove Albion forward Alireza Jahanbakhsh is close to sealing an exit as Feyenoord try to finalise a transfer.
That’s according to Algemeen Dagblad, who say a move is ‘almost complete’ following the departure of Steven Berghuis.
The latter is set to join Ajax this summer, and that has left Feyenoord without a key player and needing to find a replacement.
They have long liked Jahanbakhsh, but that seemed to be an ‘unfeasible’ option for them for a long time considering the finances that would be involved.
That’s opened up the door for a transfer, and a deal is ‘almost complete’, with Jahanbakhsh also playing his part.
He’s made a ‘big sacrifice’ to make the move happen, and that has proven to be ‘key’ to making his move to Feyenoord possible.
The Dutch side will be buying the player outright and have signed him up to a ‘multi-year contract’, with director of football Frank Arnesen stating they ‘still have to do something’ but were ‘optimistic’ when asked about the deal for the Brighton man.
