West Ham United are eyeing a move for Espanyol winger Adrián Embarba but face competition from Wolverhampton Wanderers for his signature.
That’s according to Sport, who say the Premier League duo ‘do not lose’ sight of the 29-year-old ahead of the summer.
The newspaper explains that Espanyol are planning something of a remodelling of their squad this summer, but that will be subjected to hypothetical sales.
The club’s intention is to maintain the current backbone of the squad, but they will not close themselves to offers either.
It’s claimed that there are several ‘technical secretaries’ in the Premier League who have him on their ‘agenda’ and West Ham and Wolves are among them.
They ‘do not lose sight’ of the forward, who managed nine goals and 14 assists in 37 games in LaLiga 2 this season.
Whether either side have made a move or approached the player isn’t made clear, just that he is someone they are both looking at.
That makes sense for Wolves, given they could lose current winger Adama Traore but not West Ham, who have several wingers on their books as it is.
David Moyes loves an under the radar bargain, though, and perhaps that is where the interest in Embarba comes from.
