Liverpool will have scouts in place for Turkey’s upcoming clash with Norway to watch over Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Cakir.
That’s according to Asist Analiz, who say the Reds remain keen on the 24-year-old goalkeeper after being linked in the past.
Cakir has had an impressive season in Turkey so far, with just 29 goals conceded in 28 Süper Lig games and ten clean sheets to his name.
That has seen him establish himself in the national set-up, with him recently starting and captaining his country in the 4-2 win over the Netherlands.
So much so that those clubs plan to have scouts in attendance for Turkey’s upcoming clash with Norway so that the goalkeeper can be ‘closely followed’.
One of the clubs named as an interested party are Liverpool – alongside Chelsea, Brighton and West Brom – and it’s not the first time they have been either.
Back in May last year, it was reported that they had made a bid for his services and reports two months later insisted they were still keeping an eye on him.
There’s been little to no mention of them since then, but with Adrian on the way out in the summer, perhaps the club are eyeing up a proper number two and an old target to fill the gap.
