Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo today features a long story on Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir and the ‘realistic options’ for his future.

The term used in their headline has a lot to do with some recent rumours the player has been involved in, including those that linked him to Liverpool.

Estadio Deportivo, however, seems pretty sceptical about that. They’re quick dismissing the rumours, pointing out that Fekir wouldn’t be a priority option for the Reds.

They say the French player wouldn’t even be considered to replace Mohamed Salah, as his recent form isn’t enough to make him such a hyped signing.

With most clubs looking to spend little in the upcoming transfer window, Estadio Deportivo claims it’s more likely Fekir will stay at Betis for one more season, and only be sold in 2022, when there’ll be only one year left on his contract.

So it seems unless Liverpool’s interest has some significant growth, the Spanish media won’t be buying their interest for now.
