Brought in to revamp Anderlecht both on and off the pitch, Vincent Kompany’s return to the Belgian side didn’t go to plan.
Their domination of the Jupiler Pro League appears to be over for the time being, and with that in mind, they are looking to bolster their squad to try and return to the top as quickly as possible.
According to DH in Belgium, their main priority this summer will be in the goalkeeper role, and two names from Tottenham are on their list.
The website explain Michel Vorm is one of the players being looked at, as the Dutchman is out of contract in the summer following his return to Spurs to backup Hugo Lloris.
That would seemingly be to compete for a starting role, while further down the pecking order, Jonathan De Bie is also an option.
The young shot stopper is also out of contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, although the London club do have the option to extend that by a year if they so wish.
Considering the 19-year-old was already having trials with other clubs, that doesn’t appear like something Spurs are interested in, but if he were to join Anderlecht, DH say it would only be as a third choice.
It was previously stated by Het Nieuwsblad that De Bie was looking for a backup role this summer i.e. second choice, so this might not be up his street.
Then again, Vorm is 36, so he might not sign for the long run at Anderlecht should he team up with Kompany, and that might be an extra incentive for the youngster.
We’ll have to wait and see.
