Even though it’s now Paris Saint Germain who seem closer to signing Alex Telles from Porto, Premier League side Chelsea are still not forgotten in the race.
Brazilian website Globo Esporte today has a story saying there are ‘advanced’ talks for the player to move to France, with agent Pini Zahavi handling the talks.
Alex Telles is protected by a release clause of €40m, and that’s the price that Porto used to demand for his exit. However, with his contract expiring next year, the Dragons are feeling forced to sell him this summer.
That’s why, according to Globo Esporte, the deal with the French side should be closed for only €25m, with another possible €5m depending on performance bonuses.
But although the transfer to PSG seems close, Globo Esporte writes that Chelsea are still in the race. It’s claimed that the Blues made an assault in February, and due to the Coronavirus crisis, the talks have ‘cooled down’.
Alex Telles’ agents are certainly making Chelsea aware of the situation, but it’s worth mentioning that in case the Blues don’t move quickly, it looks like Alex Telles is moving to Paris instead.
