Following Argentina’s Pre-Olympic title, Brighton & Hove Albion will finally be able to have Alexis Mac Allister in their squad for the rest of the season.

The Seagulls have paid Boca Juniors a fee to cut short his loan spell, and had been waiting for the end of the tournament so they could have the midfielder.

Given Mac Allister’s good performances in the campaign, the Argentine media has been giving lots of praise for his form. Today it’s AS who say how good he’s been.

The outlet has taken a few players from the U23 squad to analyse, and the Brighton starlet is the one who’s most highlighted.

They say he’s ‘probably’ been the best footballer in the tournament, and his leadership can no longer be questioned. Mac Allister is also praised for ‘great handling of both legs, a phenomenal long shot, great arrival and excellent commitment’.

Alexis Mac Allister spoke to the local press after the match against Brazil on Sunday night, and when interviewed by ESPN, he talked about the challenge of moving to Brighton.

“It’s a very important challenge for me. I’ve always said that the Premier League is the best league in the world and for me it is a great challenge to be able to show that I can live up to it. I will prepare, I worked very hard and I’ll get used to the things that the Premier League has, to be able to be at that level.”
