It was worth taking a punt on a player. Despite all the drama, injuries and his doping ban, the Frenchman was able to prove some level of fitness to the Hammers.
Subsequently he made a handful of appearances, got a couple of assists, yet couldn’t do enough to convince Manuel Pellegrini to keep him around for longer.
Now he’s without a club, and despite talk of various offers, it doesn’t feel like there’s a queue of clubs outside his door.
One side who are interested is Le Havre, of France’s Ligue 2, report L’Equipe. They ‘dream’ of recruiting the 32 year old as part of their ambitious project, and he’s considering the unlikely move.
