With a year left on his contract at Tottenham Hotspur, Christian Eriksen publicly expressed he is ready for a new challenge and admitted a move to Real Madrid would be a step up for him.

Earlier this month, we relayed news from Spain that Zinedine Zidane wants his side to sign Paul Pogba, while Los Blancos president Florentino Pérez views the Spurs star as a ‘cheaper option’ to the Manchester United midfielder.

Tuesday’s edition of AS now claims Pogba prefers Juventus over the 13-time European champions, which is why the La Liga giants will use the funds they kept for his signing to land Eriksen and Napoli’s Fabian Ruiz.

Due to the latest development in regards to Pogba’s preference, the Denmark international appears as the ‘most feasible option’ for Real Madrid.

Eriksen would arrive at Santiago Bernabeu for a price much lower than the fee needed to sign Pogba, meaning Zidane’s side will be left with more funds to make an effort to secure Fabian’s services.

It would also give the Spanish club an opportunity to convince their manager on the possibility of bringing in Eriksen and Fabian for the price of signing Pogba.

Napoli want to hold on to their player for one more year and Real Madrid will be hoping to demand Fabian as a part of the deal that will see James Rodriguez move in the opposite direction.

The Colombian is a priority target for the Serie A club’s manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has already coached him at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
