Spanish newspaper Marca over the weekend had a feature looking at English clubs who wanted Real Madrid players over the summer.
Chelsea’s interest in Alvaro Morata is covered, as is Pep Guardiola’s apparent keenness to get Toni Kroos to Manchester City.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to have wanted Isco, and Manchester United are credited with an attempt, or another attempt, at signing Raphael Varane.
The French defender has been linked to Manchester United throughout his career, and Marca reported several times this summer that Jose Mourinho had tried to sign him for the Premier League club.
Varane say that this time around, Varane had ‘a few days of doubt’ about his future before informing the leaders at Real Madrid that he didn’t want to go anywhere.
So, same time next summer then?
