Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen was sent out on loan to Borussia Mönchengladbach last summer, and will only return to the club at the end of the current season.

However, nothing is certain yet as the Bundesliga side are keen on signing the Danish defender permanently, but it’s thought any deal would have to include a buyback option.

According to German media outlet Express, Antonio Conte has Christensen in his plans once he returns to the club after his loan spell.

Express say Chelsea already have David Luiz, Gary Cahill, and Kurt Zouma for the future, but are waiting for Christensen to return to the club. The 20-year-old has made a name for himself in Germany, and Borussia Monchengladbach are ready to put €25m on the table.

Borussia Mönchengladbach’s director of sport Max Eberl has been retying for the last few months to sign Christensen permanently, but it appears there’s some way to go.
