Former Leeds United Harry Kewell winger has revealed his debut for the club was a game which changed his life. The 37-year-old spent seven seasons at Leeds United after coming through the club’s youth system.

Speaking to Four Four Two (Subscribe here), Kewell was asked which games defined his career in the game. The ex-Australia international said when he learned he would be making his debut against Middlesbrough it was a priceless moment because he was going to be playing with the likes of Gary Speed and Gary McAllister.

Kewell was just 17-years-old when he played in his first game for Leeds United, and afterwards the player just wanted more of what he’d experienced.

“This was my debut, at 17. I was called into a meeting with great players likes Gary Speed and Gary McAllister, then I learned I was in the team and everyone congratulated me. Moments like that are priceless. When I played I thought: Oh my god, I want some more of this,” said Kewell on his Leeds United debut.

Kewell played in over 180 Premier League games for Leeds United, scoring 45 goals. He was part of the Leeds United team which reached the Champions League semi-final in the early 2000s, but left the club for Liverpool when they were relegated.
