For a while, Dedryck Boyata to Lazio was a big story in Italy, but then came the signing of Francesco Acerbi, and everything went quiet.

The Belgium international was always seen as a second choice to his Italian counterpart, and would only have been signed if someone like Bastos had left Rome for greener pastures.

However, that doesn’t mean the Celtic centre-back will be staying in Scotland for the upcoming campaign, as DH reveal the 27-year-old ‘has plenty of choice’.

Other than Lazio, no other clubs are mentioned, but the Belgian outlet claim a number of ‘ambitious’ Premier League sides have come knocking to ‘gauge the temperature’, as well as others from France and Spain who play in European cups.

Talks have started here and there with Boyata’s entourage, and DH believe some of them could be ‘quickly concluded’, as the player hopes to find a project fitting for his new status after a solid World Cup.

This all comes a day or so after Sport/Foot released an interview with former Celtic player and assistant manager John Collins, who was sure there would be offers for the defender, whom he helped bring to Celtic Park under Ronny Deila.
