Premier League clubs West Ham and Newcastle United are currently both in talks over signing Paraguayan midfielder Miguel Almirón, Sport Witness has learned.

Sources tell us that a representative was sent to England to speak to the Premier League sides. Neither of the clubs has yet made an official offer for the player, so the situation isn’t advanced at this stage.

West Ham are currently considered to be in pole position to sign the 24-year-old, ahead of Newcastle, having shown the strongest interest, but are still to make a final decision on the transfer.

The midfielder had already attracted the interest from the Premier League club back in 2016, but ended up moving to MLS side Atlanta United in a €7.5m deal.
