Wolverhampton are in no rush to make a decision on Pedro Lima, despite fresh interest from Brazil.
According to RTI Esporte, Atlético Mineiro want to sign the 19-year-old right-back on a season-long loan with an option to buy. The report claims the proposed purchase clause would be set at €4m (£3.4m).
The Brazilian side are said to be waiting for Wolves to define the player’s future before deciding whether to advance negotiations. RTI add that manager Eduardo Domínguez has identified right-back as one of his priority positions.
Wolves still looking towards Europe
The most interesting detail from RTI’s report concerns Wolves’ thinking following Pedro Lima’s return from Portugal.
The defender recently returned to Molineux after Wolves ended his loan spell at Porto ahead of schedule. While the club are not expected to keep him in the senior squad for the season, RTI state that Wolves are also not ready to immediately approve a move elsewhere.
Instead, the Premier League club reportedly want to wait for the European transfer window to open fully. After that, they will assess all available options.
According to the report, Wolves believe Pedro Lima still has a market in Europe and want to see whether clubs on the continent come forward before making a final decision.
Another loan looks the most likely outcome
RTI explain that Wolves are currently considering two realistic paths.
One would see Pedro Lima head out on another temporary move in Europe. The other would involve a loan to a club capable of offering regular competitive football and helping his development.
That leaves Atlético Mineiro in a waiting game for now. The Brazilian club believe the right-back fits their style of play. They also see value in a deal that includes a future purchase option.
RTI explain that Atlético view the structure as financially attractive, given they would have the chance to secure a young player with resale potential if he develops as expected. And it is not the first time this Brazilian side knocks on Wolves’ door for him.
Pedro Lima also remains highly regarded in Brazil. The defender has regularly featured for the country’s youth national teams. He has already represented the Brazil U20 side in official competitions.
His spell in Portugal was relatively short, but he still managed nine appearances and one assist for Porto B during the 2025/26 season.
For Wolves, however, the priority appears to be gathering all the information available before deciding where the youngster will continue his development. After his early return from Portugal, the club are taking their time over the next step.
