Three English clubs have Italian defender Nicolò Savona on their radar, with Juventus setting a price tag between £17m and £21m (€20m – €25m), according to journalist Fabiana Della Valle, as relayed by TuttoJuve.com.
Della Valle says Newcastle United, Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the English suitors keeping an eye on the youngster.
Savona has only just signed a new deal with Juventus, but if someone is willing to match the asking price, the Bianconeri might just “sacrifice” him.
Tall, strong and right-footed, the 22-year-old can play as a wide centre-back or full-back, and has the engine to cover the entire flank when needed. At 1.92m, he is a force in the air, sharp in duels, and comfortable stepping into build-up play.
His crossing is pinpoint, his positioning intelligent, and his decision-making calm under pressure – traits that would not look out of place in England.
Savona became a regular starter for Juventus from the 23/24 season, having played 70 matches in all competitions since then. Recently he started every game in Juventus’ FIFA Club World Cup group stage, but an injury in the last match against Manchester City has kept him sidelined since.
The new contract may have been a statement of commitment, but in football, money talks, and this is one of those cases where the right bid could quickly change the conversation.
For now, the player remains part of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, and the next steps will depend on whether one of Newcastle United, Wolves or Southampton, or anyone else for that matter, meets Juventus’ valuation.
Southampton obviously seems unlikely given their relegation.
