Tottenham Hotspur youngster Luka Vuskovic has insisted his future won’t be sorted until after the World Cup this summer.

SportBILD have an interview with the Tottenham defender today. He insists there’s no rush to decide what happens to him next season.

Th youngster is currently on loan at HSV Hamburg, where he’s been making waves since day one. Tottenham sent him out there to continue his development in the Bundesliga, and he’s done just that.

Alongside establishing himself as a key player for the German side, he’s also been a standout performer for much of this season already. That’s seen him pick up plenty of awards, and recognition too.

It’s also led to questions about what happens next. The loan deal from Tottenham expires in the summer and there’s a decision to make on him.

Inspiration for Tottenham success from Harry Kane

Vuskovic, for his part, has made it clear that he’d like to stay at HSV. He wants to play alongside his brother, Mario, for the club. But Mario is serving a drug’s ban until November next year. Thus, Tottenham would have to sanction another season-long loan deal for that to happen.

But Spurs might have other plans, particularly with Micky van de Ven reportedly looking to depart in the summer. Vuskovic may be seen as a ready-made replacement for the Dutchman. Or they may have a third successive loan elsewhere planned. For now, Tottenham have remained closed on the matter.

Vuskovic isn’t, though. He wants to return and has set a timeframe for a transfer too, should the ‘basic requirement’ of HSV staying up occur first.

“It would be fantastic to play for this incredible club with Mario,” he said.

“We’ll decide after the World Cup what happens next, what’s best for me.”

Hamburg welcome Bayern Munich on Saturday, and Vuskovic will be up against Harry Kane. The defender has been trying to plan ahead of facing the Tottenham legend.

“I watch videos of him, of how he scores his goals,” the Hamburg player said. “How he moves, and how he behaves in challenges. I get them from our match analysts.

“If you’re not paying attention to him for even a second, Harry Kane will ruthlessly exploit that moment. We have to be prepared for that.”

Vuskovic also wants to take inspiration from Kane’s Tottenham loans: “He had his phases to learn how to play, how to score goals. I believe every step he took back then was right for him and his career. In the end, he became an incredible striker. He deserves congratulations.”
