Wolves appear to have adjusted their plans for Enso Gonzalez, with new reports from Brazil indicating a loan without a purchase option now sits at the centre of discussions.

According to O Globo, the Premier League side have stepped away from the idea of including a future fee, focusing instead on minutes and exposure for the 20-year-old winger.

That approach explains why Botafogo have entered talks. The Brazilian club are waiting for their transfer ban to be lifted before finalising any move and see Gonzalez as a low-cost way to add quality.

The deal on the table would run until the end of the season, with no obligation or option to buy. Wolves invested heavily when they signed him from Libertad in 2023 and want to protect that asset.

However, Botafogo are not the only option. As we have been following closely, a number of reports have linked Gonzalez with clubs in Spain and Turkey, or even a Championship spell, where loan opportunities also exist.

Those markets remain active and continue to appeal to the player’s camp, as regular football remains the priority for his development. The Brazilian move represents one pathway, not a definitive outcome.

From Wolves’ side, the logic stays consistent. Gonzalez has struggled to secure first-team minutes and has played mainly with the U21s.

A clean loan allows the club to showcase him, assess his progress, and reassess his value later, without committing to a sale at a reduced price.

The common thread is clear: a temporary exit, without a purchase clause, now defines the strategy for Enso Gonzalez.
