Inter Milan now have a verbal agreement in place with Liverpool for midfielder Curtis Jones to join this summer.

Journalist Gianluigi Longari reports that the Italian side are now closing in on the 25-year-old, and, crucially, don’t need sales to finalise the move.

Inter Milan now have a verbal agreement in place with Liverpool for Curtis Jones.

The deal for him is now in the works and entering the final stages. He makes no mention of the financial aspects of the agreement that’s in place.

Inter Milan working hard

It is a significant step forward on a deal that has been stuck in limbo for weeks. Inter Milan have been chasing the Liverpool midfielder for much of the summer as part of a big rebuild following their title win last season.

Multiple reports from Italy have indicated that the Liverpool midfielder is keen on the move too.

His public falling out with Dominik Szoboszlai is pre-season only added to that belief. Sport Witness also covered a report from Italy stating that he was dropping hints on social media.

Different valuations

The two sides have always been far apart in their valuations. While Inter wanted to pay around €20m, Liverpool have, at times, sought €30m plus as a minimum.

They have steadily been getting closer to each on that front over the last few weeks. Sport Witness then covered a report yesterday stating that a decisive offer was on the way from Inter Milan.

That was updated today as Inter Milan’s move for the Liverpool man made front-page news once again. The indication from Italy is that a deal would get done at some point.

Now that is growing as Inter have reached a verbal agreement with those in charge at Anfield. Now it’s time for an official bid and the next steps.
