Danny Röhl could be without Rangers’ Youssef Chermiti next season as PSV Eindhoven are looking to take him away from Ibrox.

The striker graduated from Sporting’s youth system and left them for Everton in 2023. He ended up playing 295 minutes from 24 matches in two seasons with the Premier League side.

This didn’t put off Rangers in bringing him to Ibrox for £8m [€9.2m] in September, when Röhl’s predecessor, Martin Russell, was in charge.

The striker is featuring regularly for Rangers and is showcasing his qualities this season.

His Scottish Premiership stats are as follows:

  • Appearances: 23
  • Starts: 14
  • Total minutes: 1,388
  • Minutes per game: 60
  • Goals: 9
  • Assists: 2

His displays for Röhl’s side didn’t go unnoticed in the winter market. In January, Sport Witness relayed news of Fenerbahçe’s offer, but a deal never took shape.

Club maintain interest in Rangers man

PSV Eindhoven have now come forward to try and sign Youssef Chermiti in the summer window.

That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, a newspaper local to the Dutch club, who cover the latest.

The Eredivisie side are following the Rangers player, along with other unnamed clubs. ED report PSV explored or were offered several players in the last window.

The 21-year-old was on their agenda in January and PSV continue to monitor him, likely for the next window. Feyenoord also had him on their radar in 2025.

As of now, the Dutch club’s interest in the Rangers man isn’t hot, meaning it’s not their priority to sign him.

The Portugal U21 international’s stance on a potential summer move to PSV isn’t made clear in the report. Should he decide to leave Ibrox after this season, then Rangers will have to make a decision.

ED do point out that Rangers’ fee demand is a ‘significant factor’ if Chermiti were to push for a transfer. There’s no mention of a figure, but it’ll certainly be in double digit, meaning €10m or more.
