While the Premier League remains quiet on the Manchester City reports for now, everyone else is talking about it with earnest.
Fans, journalists, and now football club owners are all getting in on the action and discussing Manchester City’s reported 114 charges. The latter means Hull City owner Acun Ilıcalı.
He’s never one to keep quiet on any given subject. Most of the time he’s busy speaking about his own club, his ambitions, transfers and everything else.

Acun Ilıcalı has this week been back in his native Türkiye. And the subject of conversation was, obviously, Manchester City’s alleged charges.
And rather than playing the diplomat, he was clear what he thinks should happen to his fellow Premier League team.
“If Manchester City did what is alleged, I think it is no different from winning an Olympic medal through doping,” Futbol Arena report him saying.
“At the end of the day, this is financial doping. They brought in the best players with massive sums of money by breaking the rules.”
Premier League punishments
He then made it clear what he thinks any punishments should look like. And he does not believe that the Premier League – or their independent commissions – can go easy if Manchester City are guilty.
“If you impose only a minor penalty, then everyone will do it,” he added.
“For the sake of football’s future – and a clean future – such actions, if they have indeed occurred, must be punished; people should not be allowed to get away with doing such things.”
It seems then, that the Hull City owner is thinking like many If Manchester City are as guilty as reports suggest, then they cannot be let off easily.
Putting numbers on such a punishment could prove difficult, though. That’s particularly the case when you have already punished Everton harshly in the past for their offences.
That has set a precedent for the Manchester City case that may be difficult to follow, even if the likes of the Hull City owner are making their opinions on the matter clear.
