Wolverhampton Wanderers‘ Ladislav Krejčí says he feels good while the Czech Republic manager, Santi Denia, says he’s unsure about his involvement against England later today.

The centre-back has had fitness concerns in recent weeks and missed matches for Wolves and the national team.

He made his first appearance of the season in the EFL Cup win [six minutes] over Port Vale on August 8th. The defender then missed three consecutive Championship matches for Wolves.

Earlier this month, Krejčí made two starts for the Molineux club before missing the league win to West Bromwich Albion. César Peixoto has confirmed a calf injury forced him to miss the tie.

Wolves man’s concern for NT

Despite the setback, the 27-year-old joined the national team camp for this international break.

Ladislav Krejčí missed the Czech Republic’s 2-1 defeat to Croatia at the weekend. A day before the clash, he said, “I feel good”, but Santi Denia still left him out of the squad.

The Czech Republic will face England in the UEFA Nations League tie on Tuesday. Denia and the Wolves man spoke at a press conference on Monday, and Sport.cz have relayed their comments.

Denia confirmed he will make a decision on his availability to face the Three Lions, after consulting medical staff.

“We’ll decide after practice; we’ll also meet with the medical staff. We’ll see how we all feel,” he said.

Wolves player in positive mood

Ladislav Krejčí has cleared himself to face England later today, which he had also stressed last week.

“I feel great. I’m back to my normal training routine with the team, and the decision will be up to the coach. I feel good,” Krejčí explained.

Towards the end of last season, the Wolves defender had an injury and there was a fitness concern at the start of this season. The Czech Republic international then suffered a calf injury earlier this month.

When asked about his recent fitness concerns, Krejčí believes he has put the difficult spell behind him.

He added: “I don’t want to dwell on it too much since we’re focusing on England right now. But at the same time, I don’t want to give a short answer because it was a long period and not exactly easy.”

“In any case, it’s behind me; I’ve dealt with the whole situation. I have to keep moving forward. I know what my goal is, what my future holds, and where my path is leading. That’s my mindset, and that’s how I work.”

Wolves will keep a close watch on whether he will feature against the Three Lions. César Peixoto would hope the player is in good shape when he returns to the Championship side after the international break.
