Arsenal have already shown interest in Breno Bidon, and the Corinthians midfielder has now given them another interesting connection.
The 21-year-old has revealed that new Gunners star Bruno Guimarães is one of his biggest inspirations in football.
Bidon is currently enjoying his first senior Brazil call-up, where he has had the opportunity to work alongside Bruno. For a player who has already attracted Arsenal’s attention, his choice of role model certainly stands out.
Bidon explains Bruno Guimarães admiration
Speaking to the Brazilian FA’s media, in comments relayed by Gazeta Esportiva, Bidon explained why he has followed Bruno’s career so closely.
“From the current generation, Bruno Guimarães is someone I follow a lot. He had a very good World Cup and managed to stand out,” Bidon said.
“He is someone who has already experienced a lot in football. He started young in Brazil and he’s someone I really look up to.”
Sharing a dressing room with Bruno has only strengthened that impression.
“From what I’ve seen while being around him, he has a very good and winning mentality. And on the pitch, I don’t even need to say anything. He’s been playing really well.”
As we covered earlier this year, the Gunners previously contacted Corinthians and Bidon’s representatives to gather information about a possible transfer.
Bruno is now at Arsenal himself, meaning Bidon’s footballing inspiration is playing for one of the clubs already linked with taking him to England.

First senior Brazil call-up adds to Bidon’s rise
There is a bigger story around Bidon this week as well. This is his first experience with Brazil’s senior squad, something he admits has arrived quicker than expected.
“The feeling is the best possible. I’m fulfilling a childhood dream. I never imagined I could be experiencing this moment so quickly,” he said.
“I believe I’m going to enjoy and make the most of everything I can here. It’s a huge experience, so I believe this moment will be very important for me. Hopefully it’s the first of many.”
Bidon already knew international football from Brazil’s youth sides. He started all nine matches at the 2025 South American U20 Championship and scored once as Brazil won the tournament.
For Arsenal, his progress is worth keeping an eye on. Their previous enquiry never developed into a bid, but Bidon’s profile continues to grow. And now he is working with – and openly learning from – one of their own midfielders.
