Napoli are worried that they’re set to miss out on Bologna’s Dan Ndoye to Nottingham Forest, so are evaluating Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling as an alternative.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport and Gianluca di Marzio, who both cover the situation today and explain that Napoli are turning their attention elsewhere because of Nottingham Forest.
Corriere report that while the Italian club are doing everything, they can to sign Ndoye, there is a fear that they’ll be pipped to the post by Nottingham Forest. A report today suggested Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were ready to offer close to €40m to Bologna.
That’s led Napoli to consider alternative options, and they are evaluating a deal for Sterling, who is leaving Chelsea. He’s the ‘strong alternative’ to the Swiss player for the Serie A champions.
The belief is that Ndoye is very attracted to moving to the Premier League and thus Nottingham Forest’s offer. A financial agreement hasn’t been reached between the two side yet.
Gianluca di Marzio backs this up, reporting that the Italian champions intend to continuing pursuing the Swiss international and are preparing a new offer for him.
However, they are keeping a list of alternatives on the back-burner and Raheem Sterling is one of those being considered.
