Manchester United are now on Bremer’s trail, as the defender considers a Juventus departure.
Over the past couple of months, Sport Witness have looked at how the centre-back’s future in Turin might not be certain. He has a release clause in his contract and Liverpool have previously tried to bring him to England.
Juve dropped out of the Serie A top four at the weekend after a loss to Fiorentina.
While Bremer did feature in the tie, failure to qualify for the Champions League could facilitate a move to Manchester United.
Player considering future
Gazzetta dello Sport report today that even though Bremer is fond of Juve, things might not be certain in the summer. If the Old Lady don’t make it to the Champions League, he will listen to possible offers and would be keen on a move to the Premier League.
As things stand, Manchester United are interested and they are playing in the Champions League next season.
Luciano Spalletti doesn’t want to see him depart but he may not have a choice. Bremer’s contract has a release clause worth €58m and paying that amount will trigger his exit.
The Brazilian will play at the World Cup next month and will use that as way to showcase his strengths. That will be vital in helping him find a club in England, with Juve feeling he will attract the right offers.
The 29-year-old may have played his last game for the club too. He was taken off injured against Fiorentina and will not feature against former club Torino.
Other clubs should be keen
Manchester United don’t specifically need a centre-back. But if Bremer is keen on playing in England, a host of other clubs should be paying attention to him.
While his injury record isn’t perfect, he is always impactful whenever he takes to the pitch. He is a leader who drags the team forward and is unlikely to back away from the challenge of doing well in England.
