Manchester United and Liverpool have been interested in Juventus’ Francisco Conceicao. More clarity is now emerging about the player’s situation.
The winger has become a vital player for the Bianconeri in 2026. He thrived under Luciano Spalletti in the second half of last season. So far in the current campaign, he’s contributed to two goals in five games. But more than that, he has been a regular, trusted member of the side.
Previously, it has been clear that he was attracting interest from Manchester United and Liverpool. Jorge Mendes was key behind this, as he spoke about an exit when he helped Juventus sign Kerim Alajbegovic.
Both clubs made contact
Today’s print edition of TuttoSport covers the Portuguese’s situation, revealing that Manchester United and Liverpool made initial moves in the summer.
They explored the situation through Mendes, and can now do so ahead of January. The Bianconeri demanded a figure of over €60m, which didn’t help a possible move.
A renewal is being considered by Juve. His current deal runs out in 2030 and the player is interested in extending it until 2031. This would only be possible if Juve are willing to offer over €4m per season.
Mendes intends to lay down the foundations for that but this doesn’t mean Conceicao’s future is certain.
Luciano Spalletti is happy with how the player is progressing. He wants to turn him into someone who is very similar to Mohamed Salah but it remains to be seen how close he’ll get.

Our take: Needs consistency
Whilst not the perfect player yet, Conceicao’s profile has witnessed a rise in Turin. He is yet to become a consistent contributor to goals but has become a reliable attacker for Juve.
Mendes wants to take advantage of that and raise the player’s value further.
Manchester United and Liverpool could well be interested but the 23-year-old still needs to take the next step. That will see him score and assist more regularly, which he isn’t doing yet.
