Kenneth Perez has been critical of Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Paul van Hecke’s latest performance and can’t wait for Arsenal‘s Jurriën Timber to take his place in the Netherlands’ line up. 

New Oranje manager Xavi has included both Van Hecke and the Arsenal player in his list for this international break.

In the summer, the 26-year-old left Brighton & Hove Albion for Tottenham Hotspur and is still settling in.

The centre-back has played every minute in the Premier League. Spurs are yet to secure their first league win of the season and are now bottom of the table.

Arsenal man better than Tottenham defender 

Xavi started Jan Paul van Hecke alongside Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk in the heart of the defence.

The Tottenham Hotspur summer signing’s stats against Germany are as follows:

Kenneth Perez has criticised the defender and wants Arsenal’s Jurriën Timber to replace him in the next match.

The former PSV Eindhoven and Ajax star was analysing the Spurs player’s performance for ESPN and Voetbal Primeur have relayed his comments.

“Van Hecke was truly incredibly poor in every way. On the ball, he is a real nightmare. If the ball is right in front of him and there is a player in his line of sight, he manages just fine,” he said.

“But if something needs to happen that is a bit unforeseen, he really has no idea. He just shoots the ball off somewhere. I don’t know how far Timber is? But that would really be an improvement for the Dutch national team.”

Arsenal defender should be available 

Jurriën Timber has struggled with injuries since March, forcing him to miss the World Cup. He suffered a second setback back in May and returned to the pitch earlier this month.

The 25-year-old, who has made two appearances for Arsenal this season, missed training with the Netherlands on Monday and Tuesday.

The Arsenal man trained on Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough to make it to the final list. Xavi had to leave three players out of the 23-man squad for yesterday’s clash and Timber was one of them.

Oranje will face Serbia, Greece and Serbia again in this international break.
