Leicester City’s Caleb Okoli has been linked with an exit from the club over the past few days.

His agent Alessandro Barison has also spoken about the possibility of an exit from the King Power Stadium, and revealed negotiations have taken place with another club.

More has now emerged about Okoli’s situation from ParmaToday, who state that Parma are keeping their interest in the defender alive for the January transfer window.

The Italian side’s boss Fabio Pecchia worked with Okoli during their time together at Cremonese and is keen on reuniting with him.

While Parma have agreed a deal with Bologna to sign Martin Erlic, the move will not go through until Bologna find a replacement.

That is why Okoli remains a valid option for Crociati, who wants to sign a defender desperately in the next few days.

The outlet believe that the Leicester City man is ‘eager to return’ to Italy and would gladly open up to Parma. He would also be interested in playing under Pecchia, who he said to be grateful to for helping him improve as a player.

The move is now approaching ‘decisive hours’, with Okoli having played only 48 minutes in all competitions under Ruud van Nistelrooy at Leicester City.
