Leeds United have FC Porto’s Danny Namaso on their transfer agenda, according to Africa Foot.
Back in August, the Dragons allowed the winger to join AJ Auxerre on loan with an option to buy.
The Cameroon international has scored two goals and contributed one assist from 14 matches for the Ligue 1 side. He’s still managed to draw the attention of Leeds United and other clubs.
Africa Foot state this is because of his performances for the national team at the ongoing AFCON. He hasn’t scored or assisted for Cameroon, but his displays are said to have attracted interest from across Europe, ‘particularly’ England, Spain and France.
Leeds United are the only English club mentioned in the report. Namaso hasn’t exactly been a star of AFCON so far, and there’s a likelihood his agent is utilising the tournament to raise his client’s profile.
It’s claimed Daniel Farke’s side and Real Betis are keeping a close watch on the 25-year-old. AS Monaco and OGC Nice have joined the Whites and the La Liga side in showing interest in the attacker.
According to the report, the player is expected to leave on a permanent transfer. His contract at Porto is until 2028 and it’s said to include an €80m release clause.
Leeds United arrival would likely be cheap

Africa Foot state Auxerre have secured a €5m purchase clause, and the Portuguese club are willing to negotiate his sale for this price. Leeds United or another club can negotiate with Porto only if Auxerre don’t exercise the purchase clause.
There’s no mention whether the Whites are looking at him for January or next summer.
Namaso was born in England and had a spell at Reading before joining Porto in 2020.
