Earlier on Monday, Leeds United were said to be moving rather concretely for Azzedine Ounahi, now a very wanted man after his performances at the World Cup.
The midfielder is of interest to many clubs around Europe, including Napoli, who are said to have made a €15m bid for the Morocco international.
That wasn’t deemed enough by Angers SCO, and that’s when Leeds came in with a reported €25m offer, which is far closer to what the Ligue 1 side want.
However, it was made clear that a move to Elland Road isn’t exactly what the player wants, and while it wasn’t stated, it’s easy to guess that eventually joining the Serie A leaders is something he would prefer.
A new update from France, from Le10 Sport, gives at least some good news for Leeds, as the outlet are adamant that Paris Saint-Germain, also linked, are not moving for the midfielder despite claims they had made a €30m offer.
It’s made clear this is ‘completely false’, that the Ligue 1 leaders have not made an offer for the player, nor are they planning on doing so, unable to move for anyone in January unless they make a sale.
Therefore, it appears that Leeds United have one less club to worry about, although it seems they will need to work hard to convince Ounahi to join them over Napoli.
