According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas have joined the race to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach attacker Franck Honorat.

The 28-year-old could leave the Bundesliga side in the summer if they fail to qualify for Europe and Leeds United are also reportedly monitoring the situation with the Frenchman.

Fotospor today report on the latest developments regarding the future of Honorat, and they say Besiktas are keen on the player.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær wants to bolster his attacking options in the summer after only being installed as the new Besiktas manager towards the end of the last transfer window.

However, Leeds United, along with Freiburg and Nice, are expected to provide competition in the race to sign the player.

Leeds United will be looking to add to their squad ahead of next season after recently being promoted back to the Premier League. Despite the English side’s interest in Honorat, Besiktas are hoping the lure of European football will give them an advantage.

Honorat has made 18 appearances this season, scoring five goals. He’s contracted to Borussia Mönchengladbach until June 2028.
