Tottenham have gone big in the summer transfer window and have a chance to make another big-name signing.
So far, the London club have addressed problems in midfield with the signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. The duo will raise the technical floor of the side, with the backline also improved.
However, Tottenham still need attacking signings. Bournemouth’s Eli Kroupi has been mentioned as a target by the English press but they also have a shot at bringing in Rafael Leao from AC Milan.

Mendes at work
Friday’s editions of Corriere della Sera and Gazzetta dello Sport report Milan are working on possible exits. They have spoken to the agents of various players and Leao gets special mention in the report.
It is believed his time at the Rossoneri is up, especially since he made his desire to leave public some weeks ago.
As Milan find a new destination, Leao’s agent Jorge Mendes is trying to help them out. This has led to the super-agent offering his client to Tottenham.
So far, the most concrete approaches for Leao have come from Turkey. The attacker isn’t interested in that and is much keener on a move to England.
Milan currently value the 26-year-old at €60m but a loan with an obligation to buy can also be considered. Further attempts for a sale are expected to take place once the World Cup ends.
Spurs should play waiting game
So far, no English clubs have made a formal approach for Rafael Leao. The player is growing desperate to leave and with passing time, Milan will have the same stance.
This can be an advantage for Tottenham, who want a left-sided attacker. Later in the window, there is a chance they can secure the Portuguese for a more favourable fee.
Leao looked like a shadow of himself in the 2025/26 campaign, which needs to be considered. Jorge Mendes has likely been pushing his client to Spurs during the negotiations for Matheus Fernandes.
