Former Watford defender Adam Masina has admitted he’s been in contact with summer signing Federico Ravaglia following his move to Vicarage Road.
Calcio Bologna cover comments from the defender today from an interview in El Resto del Carlino. It seems he’s been in touch with Watford’s new goalkeeper to offer some advice.
Ravaglia made the move to Vicarage Road at the end of July, joining the Hornets in a €7m deal from Bologna. It brought an end to a life-long association with the Italian club, where he player in their youth set up as well at U17 and U19 levels.
Watford move
He moved to the first team in 2017 and made 52 appearances for the club alongside various loan spells at the likes of Frosinone and Reggina.
Now he’s moved to England to be Watford’s number one. He already has two clean sheets in six games for them in all competitions this season.
Adapting to life in England will be a key part of how he does in England. And it seems Masina has offered his advice on that front.
“I’m happy for Ravaglia and wish him the best for this new adventure at Watford,” he said.
“I see a bit of myself in him; leaving, packing your bags, and moving away from loved ones is a major step.
“I’ve even recommended a few Italian restaurants to him and am offering my support. He’s a level-headed guy, and I’m sure he’ll do well.”
Masina experience
Adam Masina, of course, knows all about swapping Bologna for Watford. He was also a product of the Italian side’s youth set up. He then joined the Hornets in 2018 in a €5m deal.
90 appearances for the Hornets followed before he returned to Italy in 2022. Now he’s offered his advice to the latest one to make the same switch.
