Bournemouth have now entered formal conversations with River Plate regarding Julio Soler, according to Argentine reporter Germán García Grova.
He claims that River’s executive Mariano Barnao made direct contact with Bournemouth sporting director Tiago Pinto to discuss a possible move. Grova states that River proposed a loan with a purchase option, which is the model they prefer for the winger.
This development represents a shift from the earlier, informal scenario. Until now, reports from Uriel Iugt and Gustavo Yarroch indicated exploratory enquiries and interest from the player’s camp, but no concrete negotiations.
Grova’s update makes clear that talks have started, and Bournemouth are now involved at leadership level.
However, the Premier League club’s stance remains important. Previous information indicated that Bournemouth preferred to loan Soler within Europe to monitor his progress more closely.
River’s proposal introduces a different dynamic, since the Argentine side want to secure an option to buy if Soler performs well in 2026.
There is no indication yet that Bournemouth have softened their preference for a European pathway. Even so, River’s direct approach suggests that they believe they can persuade the English club to reconsider, or at least to keep the negotiation open.
Soler’s next step will depend on how Bournemouth evaluate this loan-plus-option proposal and whether it aligns with their long-term plans for the player.
