Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko has backed Mykhailo Mudryk to bounce back from his injury disappointment and make a point at Tottenham.
The Ukrainian is backing his compatriot to make a point at Spurs this season and bounce back from an ankle injury.
The winger joined Tottenham on loan from Chelsea at the end of the transfer window. That was one of the most surprising deals of the window.
Tottenham move
Mudryk has spent the last two years out of action after being handed an initial four-year ban by the English FA after testing for a low concentration of meldonium.
He’s battled that suspension from day one, with an agreement finally reached back in July. He has agreed to a suspension equal to the time he already served – nearly two years since his provisional suspension – clearing him to return to football.
The Ukranian subsequently joined Tottenham seeking game time under Roberto De Zerbi, who he played under at Shakhtar Donetsk.
But it’s been a frustrating start to his Spurs spell as an ankle injury has already seen him miss three games. He’s not expected to return from that until November.

Mykolenko unconcerned
Mykolenko isn’t concerned, though. The Everton defender is hopeful that his compatriot will bounce back at some point.
“Honestly, I try not to read the news,” he told Sport UA.
“I’m very happy for Misha that he’s back. It’s unfortunate that he got injured. But that’s our life in football – it’s part of our careers, and everyone gets injured at some point.”
The Everton full-back then insisted he was confident that the winger will come back stronger.
“I’m sure he’ll come back stronger and be able to help us during the next training camp,” he added.
“I’m just glad he’s back. He can enjoy football with the team now, rather than just training individually.”
