Everton are ‘still talking’ with PSG striker Hugo Ekitike and his entourage about a possible move this summer but will need to move quickly as other clubs circle.
That’s according to Le Parisien, who insist Everton are still in the mix for the player despite reports making it seem they were never truly interested.
The newspaper explains that Ekitike has known for two weeks that he has no future at PSG and needs to find a new club before the window closes.
Despite showing positive signs in pre-season the French giants are planning without him and made that clear, with several clubs coming forward to ask about him as a result.
The same can be said of AC Milan while Lyon have also made enquiries ahead of a possible move for him as well. They, though, can’t afford the transfer fee or Ekitike’s salary.
Then there is West Ham, who have been chasing the striker’s signature for several weeks and positioned themselves ‘more concretely’ in the last few days.
That’s something we’ve seen reported elsewhere today also, with it claimed director of football Tim Steidten had held positive talks over the player recently.
They seem keen to make a deal happen and so Everton, if they are as interested as it is believed, may need to move quickly or risk losing out.
