Earlier today we covered reports from both the Portuguese and Polish media on Jan Bednarek’s impending move from Southampton to FC Porto.

The defender was always likely to leave the Saints this summer after their relegation from the Premier League, and a move to Porto looks like a great opportunity for the 29-year-old and his family.

According to the Portuguese media, Porto will be sending around €7.5m to Southampton, and the Poland international will be signing a four year contract with the Primeira Liga club.

Multiple clubs from various leagues showed interest in the Saints player, but it was Porto who managed to catch his attention above all others, partly because there’s a belief of a realistic ability to fight for titles in the coming years.

On Monday afternoon, Portuguese journalist Sebastian Souza-Pinto reports Bednarek has landed, and has shared a video of the player making his arrival ahead of his new adventure in the north of Portugal.
