Everton no longer have to worry about the competition from Spain in the race for Barcelona’s Héctor Fort.

Last week, we relayed news the Premier League side are pushing ahead of Liverpool and Fulham to sign the right-back.

On Tuesday, Sport Witness covered claims from Spain of Real Sociedad joining Everton in the transfer battle.

Advantage for Everton

Everton, Fulham and Liverpool are keen on Héctor Fort

Sport, after relaying La Real links, share their own information on Everton and Borussia Dortmund.

The La Liga winners want to sell Héctor Fort and have set a €15m price.

Real Sociedad would have preferred to sign the 20-year-old on loan or for an affordable price. He was on loan at Elche CF last season and they returned with another loan offer.

Hansi Flick’s side have no intention of accepting these conditions, forcing the two Spanish clubs to drop out of the race. This should please his non-Spanish suitors, including the Toffees.

Future away from Spain

Hansi Flick has Jules Koundé, Eric García and Xavi Espart as the three right-backs at his disposal for this season.

The manager has left Héctor Fort out of his plans and therefore, the Catalan club have made him train alone.

His future is away from Barcelona and Spain, and he’s attracting interest from Everton, Fulham and Borussia Dortmund. None of these clubs have tabled formal bids but are well aware that Barca need €15m for negotiations.

The Camp Nou side are hoping to finalise the Spain U20 international’s sale ‘by the end of this week or early next week’.

If not, Barcelona would have to open negotiations with his Spanish suitors. Sport makes it clear that none of them are willing to meet their €15m or even offer €10m.

Should there be no movements in the coming days, David Moyes’ side can take advantage of the situation to sign Fort for a reasonable price in the last week of the window.
