Crystal Palace will face competition from Arsenal and Fulham in the race to sign Stade Brestois Raphaël Le Guen this summer.

The 19-year-old is a product of the French club’s youth system. He made his way into the first team last August and has played only six matches.

Despite this, he still attracted Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Fulham and other clubs’ attention.

On July 28th, Sport Witness covered claims from France that Crystal Palace agreed on personal terms with the centre-back.

The Eagles’ plan is for him to replace Maxence Lacroix, who has joined Chelsea earlier in this window.

Pierre Sage’s side, who haven’t completed Raphaël Le Guen’s transfer yet, are still keen and face a threat from Arsenal and Fulham.

Arsenal and Fulham can challenge Crystal Palace

The defender is still in talks with the UEFA Conference League winners, mainly because of Pierre Sage.

Crystal Palace have qualified for the Europa League. This, coupled with their focus on developing young talents, pleases the player.

The Frenchman is keen on moving to Selhurst Park because of the aforementioned three factors. Sage’s side aren’t alone in the transfer pursuit as the Gunners and Fulham are also showing interest.

Mikel Arteta won’t be without Raphaël Le Guen’s compatriot, William Saliba, for a while. Arsenal are looking for a new centre-back in this window, but their priority is to sign an experienced defender.

Fulham are planning to strengthen Álvaro Arbeloa’s defence and have identified a few targets, including the Stade Brestois player.

With three clubs in the mix, the youngster’s future could ‘soon lie in the Premier League’.

As things stand, the Eagles are ahead, despite Arsenal and Fulham interest.
