Everton have Dinamo Zagreb’s Dion Drena Beljo on their radar as the Premier League side look to further strengthen their attack next year.

The Toffees have scored eight goals from eight league matches this season. Thierno Barry is top scorer with three goals and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has two.

Besides the duo, James Tarkowski, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Tyrique George have a goal each for Everton. In short, only five players have scored in the league for the Merseyside club.

Taking this situation into account, it won’t be surprising if David Moyes’ side were to take action to sign an attacker in January.

Everton identify Beljo as target for January

The latest claims from the UK have mentioned about the Toffees’ interest in Dion Drena Beljo. There are also reports indicating the Croatian club value him at €25m.

After relaying these links, Večernji List provides their own take on Dinamo Zagreb’s stance on letting the striker leave in the winter market.

The Croatia international returned to his country when Dinamo signed from FC Augsburg in July 2025. He starred in his debut season, managing 38 goals and six assists from 48 matches.

This didn’t go unnoticed, as two unnamed clubs offered €20m in the summer window. The Croatian club turned them down and their decision has already paid off.

Everton have to be convincing

Dion Drena Beljo has starred this season, scoring 17 goals and contributing eight assists from 17 matches.

Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered a report from Croatia explaining that Newcastle United are in the mix. The Magpies are likely to face a battle from their Premier League rivals.

Večernji List now states Everton ‘could try to test Dinamo’s resolve as early as January’, to sign the 24-year-old.

His contract is until 2030, and Transfermarkt value him at €15m. This puts his club in a comfortable position to hold on to him for long.

Dinamo Zagreb have already rejected €20m bids in the summer. Taking this and Beljo’s rise into account, Everton or another club have to convince them with a tempting offer to stand a chance to sign him in the next window.

There’s no mention of the fee needed to please the Croatian club. It’ll be interesting to see how this case develops in the coming months.

Agency Roof represents the attacker, and their client list also includes Thierno Barry and Tyler Dibling. Everton may utilise their connection with the agent to sign the striker.
