Crystal Palace have been linked with a move for Juventus’ Jonathan David but the deal is facing some complications.
The Canadian is out of Juve’s project under Luciano Spalletti. He was left on the bench during their win over Frosinone and his exit is likely to fund the Bianconeri’s move for another striker.
Sport Witness have covered how Crystal Palace have been interested in a swap involving Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Frenchman is keen on a departure, with the Old Lady intrigued by the idea of signing him.
Now, more details are emerging about the Eagles’ stance on the transfer.
Mateta renewal key

Today’s TuttoSport notes that Juve’s hopes of signing Mateta are fading.
This is because Crystal Palace themselves proposed a ‘real idea’ of a loan swap involving the Frenchman and David.
This would’ve only happened if Mateta signed a new deal, as his current one runs out in 2027. The striker has rejected this, which has thrown a spanner in the works for both Pierre Sage’s side and Juve.
David himself would’ve been keen on joining the London club. He rejected an approach from Hull City but has been interested in joining one of Crystal Palace or Aston Villa.
