In November, Tuttomercatoweb reported that Caleb Okoli can leave Leicester City in January.

Clubs had already made enquiries about taking the player on loan. An unnamed side was also interested in signing the Italian permanently.

Cremonese have been named as an interested side, but the slant on how the Foxes see things has changed.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported the 24-year-old a January target, as the Serie A side want to bolster their backline. Napoli’s Luca Marianucci is also an option.

Cremonese approached Leicester City to ask about the possibility of signing Okoli. The Foxes ‘completely refused’ to let the defender depart.

Even if the ex-Atalanta player was interested in the switch, Marti Cifuentes’ side don’t want to see him leave in January.

So far this season, Okoli has been an important part of Leicester City’s first-team. He returned from a knee injury recently and has started both of the Foxes’ games after that. In total, he has played 12 Championship games.

That is much different to how things were last season, when Okoli was struggling for regular game time.

Considering that, it will take something special to convince those at King Power for a winter exit.
